By downloading, installing, or using the Tilawa mobile application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

Tilawa is an audio Quran player application that provides:

  • Access to Quranic recitations by various reciters
  • Audio playback and streaming capabilities
  • Bookmark and favorites management
  • Qibla direction finder
  • Offline download functionality
  • User account synchronization across devices

3. User Accounts

3.1 Account Creation

To access certain features, you may need to create an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete information
  • Maintain the security of your account credentials
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
  • Be responsible for all activities under your account

3.2 Account Termination

You may delete your account at any time through the App settings. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. User Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Use the App for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the App or its systems

5. Intellectual Property Rights

5.1 App Ownership

The App, including its design, features, code, and content, is owned by Tilawa and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.

5.2 Quranic Content

The Quranic text is sacred and belongs to all Muslims. Audio recitations are provided with appropriate permissions from reciters or their representatives. Recitation copyrights belong to their respective copyright holders.

5.3 Limited License

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms.

6. Content and Downloads

6.1 Audio Content

Downloaded audio files are for personal use only. You may not:

  • Redistribute, sell, or share downloaded content
  • Use content for commercial purposes without permission
  • Modify or create derivative works from the audio files

6.2 Availability

We strive to maintain availability of all content but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Content may be added, removed, or modified at our discretion.

7. Privacy and Data

Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information. By using the App, you consent to our data practices as described in the Privacy Policy.

8. Third-Party Services

The App may integrate with third-party services such as:

  • Authentication providers (Google Sign-In)
  • Analytics services (Firebase Analytics)

Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and conditions.

9. Disclaimers and Limitations of Liability

9.2 No Religious Endorsement

While we strive to provide accurate Quranic content, Tilawa is a technology service and does not provide religious guidance or endorsements. For religious questions, please consult qualified scholars.

9.3 Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Tilawa shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses resulting from:

  • Your use or inability to use the App
  • Any unauthorized access to or use of our servers
  • Any interruption or cessation of the App
  • Any bugs, viruses, or harmful code transmitted through the App
  • Any errors or omissions in content

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Tilawa, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from:

  • Your use of the App
  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your violation of any rights of another party

11. Updates and Modifications

11.1 App Updates

We may release updates, upgrades, or new features for the App. You may need to update the App to continue using it. Some updates may be mandatory for security or functionality purposes.

11.2 Terms Modifications

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes through the App or via email. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice. Upon termination:

  • Your right to use the App will immediately cease
  • You must delete all copies of the App from your devices
  • Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will continue to apply

13. Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable local laws, without regard to conflict of law principles.

13.2 Arbitration

Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall be resolved through binding arbitration, except where prohibited by law.

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Tilawa regarding the App.

14.2 Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

14.3 Waiver

Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not be deemed a waiver of such right or provision.

14.4 Assignment

You may not assign or transfer these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign our rights and obligations without restriction.
